Professor of Physiology and Anatomy, School of Medicine
Chair, Neuroscience Training Program
Professor of Biomedical Engineering, College of Engineering

B.S.E.: Princeton University
Ph.D.: University of Michigan

Research Interests: Auditory physiology; Binaural processing; Sound localization

Research Summary

My laboratory is interested in the processing of binaural information in the auditory system. In particular we are interested in the neural mechanisms underlying sound localization and other binaural processing. The laboratory follows two principal lines of research: one is directed to analyzing the neuronal circuitry in the brainstem that is thought to underlie the coding of acoustic cues important for localization and the other uses a behavioral approach. See Binaural Physiology lab page for more details.
