Declaration of Data Structures

The EarObject data structures used in a simulation program are initialised in stage (i) of the standard program format as pointers - the EarObjectPtr type. Figure [16] shows how the EarObject pointers are initialised in this example program.


	EarObjectPtr	stimulus = NULL, pEFilter = NULL, bMFilter = NULL;
	EarObjectPtr	recptPotn = NULL, hairCell = NULL;

Figure [16]: Declaration of EarObject Data Structures It is good practise to initialise all EarObjects when declared, as illustrated above. This practise is an integral part of the error checking incorporated in the CRL routines which handle EarObjects.
